world collage day is celebrated on Saturday May 10th 2025
you know how there is often something you absolutely love to do,
and when you return to it
it makes your heart sing?
for Lilla this is making collage:
here is some recent work
cut it out meets off-cuts

so lovely to be around young beings and see their spontaneous wondrous creativity
we are fortunate to have Pegi living above the studio,
she comes in to make art work with us: when we commented we are all artists,
she responded I am not an artist I am a pretend artist
yikes! ….
at five years old the myth of the
less than, flawed, in need of improvement human has already begun…
we mailed her a letter addressed to Pegi, artist and musician,
a small gesture to remind her she is a naturally creative being
(as we all are)
…and received this letter back from her…

…and continuing the series three books by the bed

a wonderful word invented by the science fiction writer Robert A. Heinlein,
whose 1961 novel Stranger in a Strange Land placed great importance on
the concept of grokking…..
to grok is to empathize so deeply with others that you merge or blend with them
or as another might describe it: to jump in the hole with that person

may your practice include plenty of grokking

we notice the birds are ever-more vociferous as spring blooms, here is a wee recording from the urban woods
in The Vale of Health & Wellbeing (aka Arnos Vale Cemetery) ….with ambient traffic sounds
ahhhhhh, being in nature, so soothing and such a reminder
of our own true nature too – made of the same stuff
Anne On was reflecting on how playing in the woods
was her favourite thing as a child
creating imaginary secret worlds,
building things from those found in nature….
and today she still goes there, makes offerings,
leaves tokens of gratitude,
and love notes/quotes…

what floats your boat?
