happy Beltane dear friends


Beltane is the Gaelic May Day festival, commonly held on 1st May
or about halfway between the spring equinox & summer solstice.
Traditionally rituals were performed, special bonfires were kindled,
their flames, smoke and ashes deemed to have protective powers

Celebrating the sacred feminine energy of the universe,
a time to welcome the abundance of the fertile earth
when the earth mother opens up to the fertility god,
and their union brings about healthy livestock,
strong crops, and new life all around.

…feasting, some of the food & drink
would be offered to the aos si –
a super natural race in myth who walk amongst the living
or in an invisible world that coexists with the world of humans:
a parallel world

A brilliant moment in the Wheel of the Year to bring ideas,
hopes and dreams into action….and to have some fun

I invite you to offer your unique flavour to the world,
to bring your gifts to the table

each one of us exalted and wonderful
with so much to give and a heart full of love,
just waiting to be expressed for the benefit of all

after a watery accident: rediscovering old work
and unexpectedly revisiting the archive
