Philip Croom, a professor at the American University in Cairo is a champion of the collaborative project al Mutanabbi Street Starts Here and sent this link to a short video to Beau Beausoleil (founder of the project)

Beau says ‘the first part of the video is another affirmation that Baghdadis continue to see the street as a touchstone of the kind of life they actually want to live, but things get even more interesting in the last part of the video when the videomaker visits a truly independent bookseller, one who epitomizes the long tradition of free speech on al-Mutanabbi Street.’
